Richtig oder falsch?
Wer? Wo? Was? Wie lange?
| ich | will |
| du | willst |
| er / sie / es / man | will |
| wir | wollen |
| ihr | wollt |
| sie / Sie | wollen |
Careful: ich will = I want. It does not mean "I will"!
Same rule as kann, muss, darf: ich will, er will. No -t at the end!
i → o: ich, du, er have i (will, willst). wir, ihr, sie have o (wollen, wollt).
Like können, müssen and dürfen: wollen stands on position 2, the second verb goes to the end and does not change.
Choose the right form of wollen.
And now: kann, muss, darf or will? Read the first sentence.
| der · das | die · Plural | |
|---|---|---|
| er → his | sein Koffer sein Auto | seine Jacke seine Kinder |
| sie → her | ihr Koffer ihr Auto | ihre Jacke ihre Kinder |
Just like mein / meine: mein Koffer, meine Jacke → sein Koffer, seine Jacke → ihr Koffer, ihre Jacke.
In the story: Willi legt seinen Koffer in das Auto. After a verb like legen, der Koffer becomes den Koffer, so sein → seinen. We will practise this later.
Willi is a man → sein / seine. Anna is a woman → ihr / ihre.
| ich | bin | war |
| du | bist | warst |
| er / sie / es | ist | war |
| wir | sind | waren |
| ihr | seid | wart |
| sie / Sie | sind | waren |
ich war = er war. No ending, like ich will / er will.
Warst du schon …? = Have you ever been …?
Warst du schon an der Nordsee?
Ich war noch nie … = I have never been …
Ich war noch nie an der Nordsee.
